Mount Pleasant is the oldest borough in Westmoreland County.  The Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department Band is the oldest continuous band in the state.  It is the only borough in Pennsylvania with an ordinance requiring gas stations in the borough to be full service.  Mount Pleasant is the first in the state to establish a community-wide Rain Garden Retrofit – to help eliminate storm water issues.


Historic District – the Mount Pleasant Historic District was listed the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.  Inside Mt Pleasant Boro you will find tree lined streets with beautiful brick homes quaint shops and yummy eateries.
